Avery’s Hope provides financial assistance to the rare, ultra rare and undiagnosed pediatric GI patient families facing out-of-pocket and insurance denied expenses. Money raised benefits the HOPE Family Fund for the Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. We offer a Travel & Lodging Program as well for families in need of a GI Center of Excellence, but live out of the area. Avery’s Hope also contributes to the Acacia Puleo Small Bowel/Liver Transplant Patient Assistance Fund at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Patient Assistance for the GI Departments at Texas Children’s Hospital, Boston Children’s Hospital and the GI Patient Assistance Program at Cleveland Children’s Clinic. 

Avery’s Hope also offers small individual awards to families in need. The organization also partners with NORD – National Organization for Rare Disorders and offers a Medical Assistance Program. Most recently, Avery’s Hope has partnered with BasiCare Plus to offer a non-insurance program offering counseling, $0 copay on most prescriptions, telehealth and access to both an accountant and an attorney.

This all volunteer organization also advocates on behalf of the rare pediatric GI patient families by serving on the Every Life Foundation Access and Newborn Screening groups. Avery’s Hope is also a member of the Global Genes Patient Alliance and is a member of the National Organization for Rare Disorders.
